‘Hellboy 3’: Ron Perlman says Guillermo del Toro “owes it to the world”

The whole world is craving a third, and final Hellboy film, and no one is more keen on getting it made than Hellboy himself, Ron Perlman. While director Guillermo del Toro talks about the possibility of making a third film, Perlman recently spoke with IGN, telling them that he feels del Toro owes it to the world to get the third, and final film in the trilogy made.

We both walked away from Hellboy 2 agreeing that there would never be another one. But, with the passage of time, it became clear to me that he really always designed it as a trilogy. There are so many questions posed in the first two films that absolutely need to be answered. I said, ‘You owe it to the world to finish this trilogy.’ I’ve been giving him Jewish guilt… He’s just so busy, but I’m going to keep working away at the body. I’m pushing seventy so he better f*cking do this soon.

It would seem that Perlman would jump at the chance of playing Hellboy again, but with del Toro’s enormous slate of films and TV shows on the horizon, just where the hell is he expected to fit in another Hellboy film? I think all fans are willing to believe anything on the third film being made, and Perlman’s comments are certainly encouraging, but the sad fact is del Toro really is a busy man, with films like Crimson Peak, Pinocchio and a possible Pacific Rim 2 to direct, TV shows The Strain and The Incredible Hulk, and then there’s his passion project At the Mountains of Madness to think about too, the man is like a machine. I, like many other fans, really hope he can find time in his busy schedule to get Hellboy 3 made. We all want it,so let’s see it done!

More on this (hopefully) as it happens.

A keen enthusiast and collector of all horror and extreme films. I can be picky as i like quality in my horror. This doesn't necessarily mean it has to be a classic, but as long as it has something to impress me then i'm a fan. I watch films by the rule that if it doesn't bring out some kind of emotive response then it aint worth watching.
