Neill Blomkamp’s ambitious sci-fi ‘Elysium’ reveals eight awesome images!

Wow, what a week it has been for Neill Blomkamp’s new sci-fi classic, Elysium. Late last week saw the release of two new images, then the beginning of this week saw the official poster released, followed by the truly jaw dropping trailer the day after. Then, just to remind us that the film is coming, today saw the revealing of eight new images thanks to Sony Pictures and the official Elysium website.

We haven’t heard hardly anything on Elysium for months, then out of the blue comes all this cool stuff in just one week! This is good, this is impressive, and thankfully the whole world now knows of this stunning looking sci-fi, man this is going to be incredible! The new images give us yet another close look at Matt Damon’s character, and a further glimpse of Jodie Fosters Elysium Secretary. What’s most interesting though, is a better look at Sharlto Copley’s bizarre looking villain. Check out the images in the below gallery.

Written and directed by Neill Blomkamp, Elysium stars Matt Damon, Jodie Foster, Sharlto Copley, William Fichtner, Michael Shanks and Alice Braga.

Elysium will arrive in UK cinemas 9th August.

In the year 2159, two classes of people exist: the very wealthy, who live on a pristine man-made space station called Elysium, and the rest, who live on an overpopulated, ruined Earth. The people of Earth are desperate to escape the planet’s crime and poverty, and they critically need the state-of-the-art medical care available on Elysium – but some in Elysium will stop at nothing to enforce anti-immigration laws and preserve their citizens’ luxurious lifestyle. The only man with the chance to bring equality to these worlds is Max (Matt Damon), an ordinary guy in desperate need to get to Elysium. With his life hanging in the balance, he reluctantly takes on a dangerous mission – one that pits him against Elysium’s Secretary Delacourt (Jodie Foster) and her hard-line forces – but if he succeeds, he could save not only his own life, but millions of people on Earth as well.

A keen enthusiast and collector of all horror and extreme films. I can be picky as i like quality in my horror. This doesn't necessarily mean it has to be a classic, but as long as it has something to impress me then i'm a fan. I watch films by the rule that if it doesn't bring out some kind of emotive response then it aint worth watching.
