The official trailer for ‘Elysium’ has landed!!!

After yesterday’s revealing of the official poster for Neill Blomkamp’s (District 9) latest ambitious sci-fi, Elysium, as promised, today comes the official trailer.

What can I say other than it is even better than I expected, and it is utterly dazzling in every sense of the word. The visuals are rich, stunning and pretty fucking amazing, the action scenes are frantic, the setting is breathtaking and incredibly well realised and Matt Damon looks absolutely perfectly cast in his role. We also get a brief glimpse of Jodie Fosters tough character,a blink and you’ll miss it shot of Sharlto Copley’s villain and we even get an idea that Blomkamp is once again making a social statement, this time about rich and poor.

Powerful, epic stuff indeed, and if Elysium was not on your must-see list of 2013, then watch the trailer below, and I guarantee it will shoot to the top of your list!

Written and directed by Neill Blomkamp, Elysium stars Matt Damon, Jodie Foster, Sharlto Copley, William Fichtner, Michael Shanks and Alice Braga.

Elysium will arrive in UK cinemas 9th August.

In the year 2159 two classes of people exist: the very wealthy who live on a pristine man-made space station called Elysium, and the rest, who live on an overpopulated, ruined Earth. Secretary Rhodes, a government official, will stop at nothing to enforce anti-immigration laws and preserve the luxurious lifestyle of the citizens of Elysium. That doesn’t stop the people of Earth from trying to get in, by any means they can. When unlucky Max is backed into a corner, he agrees to take on a daunting mission that if successful will not only save his life, but could bring equality to these polarized worlds.

A keen enthusiast and collector of all horror and extreme films. I can be picky as i like quality in my horror. This doesn't necessarily mean it has to be a classic, but as long as it has something to impress me then i'm a fan. I watch films by the rule that if it doesn't bring out some kind of emotive response then it aint worth watching.
