On Sunday we revealed a brand new trailer for The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones, the same trailer which premiered at WonderCon over the weekend. Yesterday a longer version of that trailer was released, and running at almost a minute longer than the WonderCon trailer, it is pretty freakin awesome.

After the disaster of new Potter and Twilight wannabes The Host and Beautiful Creatures, The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones is hoping to fill the gap until the next Hunger Games movie arrives. Judging by the new trailer, there is plenty of good stuff to look forward to, and choosing to use Radiohead’s Your All I Need for part of the trailer is an instant selling point for me!

The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones arrives in UK cinemas 23rd August 2013. Based on the novel’s written by Cassandra Clare, the first film is directed by Harald Zwart (The Karate Kid) and the cast includes Lily Collins, Lena Headey, Jonathan Rhys Myers, Robert Sheehan, Jared Harris, Jamie Campbell Bower, Kevin Zegers and Aidan Turner.

Synopsis:

When fifteen-year-old Clary Fray heads out to the Pandemonium Club in New York City, she hardly expects to witness a murder—much less a murder committed by three teenagers covered with strange tattoos and brandishing bizarre weapons. Then the body disappears into thin air. It’s hard to call the police when the murderers are invisible to everyone else and when there is nothing—not even a smear of blood—to show that a boy has died. Or was he a boy?

This is Clary’s first meeting with the Shadowhunters, warriors dedicated to ridding the earth of demons. It’s also her first encounter with Jace, a Shadowhunter who looks a little like an angel and acts a lot like a jerk. Within twenty-four hours Clary is pulled into Jace’s world with a vengeance, when her mother disappears and Clary herself is attacked by a demon. But why would demons be interested in ordinary mundanes like Clary and her mother? And how did Clary suddenly get the Sight? The Shadowhunters would like to know…

A keen enthusiast and collector of all horror and extreme films. I can be picky as i like quality in my horror. This doesn't necessarily mean it has to be a classic, but as long as it has something to impress me then i'm a fan. I watch films by the rule that if it doesn't bring out some kind of emotive response then it aint worth watching.
