Joseph Kosinski is currently enjoying the success of his new film, Oblivion here in the UK, and is no doubt looking forward to its rather large release in the US this weekend. Big things are expected from the films US release, and after also directing Tron: Legacy, it is fair to say that Kosinski is fairly talented when it comes to sci-fi.

So today’s news that both he and Pacific Rim screenwriter Travis Beacham are working on a Blade Runner style sci-fi series, should be very exciting for fans of the genre. Kosinski with direct and produce, while Beacham will write and executive produce the series. There were no details release on when the series would start on AMC, but reports are saying it is expected to be a companion piece to The Walking Dead.

Per Deadline: Ballistic City is described as “Blade Runner meets Battlestar Galactica” and tells the story of a former cop thrust into the criminal underworld of a city housed in a generational space ship destined for an unknown world. I hear the project is eyed as a potential companion to AMC’s genre blockbuster The Walking Dead. Kosinski, who previously directedTron: Legacy, and Beacham, who also co-wrote Clash Of The Titans, executive produce with Anonymous Content’s Steve Golin, Bard Dorros and Michael Sugar.

A keen enthusiast and collector of all horror and extreme films. I can be picky as i like quality in my horror. This doesn't necessarily mean it has to be a classic, but as long as it has something to impress me then i'm a fan. I watch films by the rule that if it doesn't bring out some kind of emotive response then it aint worth watching.
