Three more head to ‘The Town That Dreaded Sundown’ remake

Three more names have been added to the remake of the 1976 horror, The Town That Dreaded Sundown. The remake is directed by Alfonso Gomez-Rejon, and produced by Ryan Murphy and Jason Blum.

Addison Timlin has already been cast in the film, and three more names will now be joining her. Veronica Cartwright will play Timlin’s Grandmother. Cartwright has been seen in a number of genre films over a 50 year career including Alien, The Birds, Invasion of the Bodysnatchers and Candyman 2: Farewell to the Flesh.

Gary Cole (Office Space, American Gothic) will play a deputy who is chasing the hooded killer. Joshua Leonard (The Blair Witch Project) has also joined the cast as another deputy, but this one is tasked with protecting Timlin and Cartwright.

Shooting begins this month in Louisiana, with an expected 2014 release.

Synopsis for the original film:

Set in the late 40?s the residents of Texarkana, Texas are left terrorized by a mysterious hooded killer who is stalking victims during the evening and leaving the local police at a loss.
