Emma Roberts should already be relatively well known to the horror genre. She had a big role in 2011’s Scream 4, and has also been seen in films like Valentines Day and Twelve. She is now in final talks to appear in the third season of American Horror Story titled Coven.

Per TV Line she is, “ nearing a deal to join the FX drama’s witch-themed third chapter. Roberts will play a self-involved party girl by the name of Madison.

The cast includes Frances Conroy, Taissa Farmiga, Jessica Lange, Kathy Bates, Lily Rabe, Sarah Paulson, Evan Peters, Gabourey Sidibe, Angela Bassett and Patti LuPone.

Here is what we previously reported on the shows plot details after Murphy and actor Dylan McDermott attended Paleyfest:

It was finally revealed that the full title of season three will be ‘American Horror Story: Coven’. Noting that the show would shoot in multiple locations (and different time-zones), Murphy said  “It’s a really cool story that we’ve been talking for a couple years, and this seemed to be the year to do it,” This season will see some filming take place in New Orleans, the first time the show has been filmed away from its soundstage location.

The title “Coven” clearly hints at a witches coven I presume, and this backs up something American Horror Story: Asylum actor Dylan McDermott said earlier at the festival. When asked about Kathy Bates’ character he mentioned the words “witches” and “Salem”, and and while nothing has yet been confirmed, I think its a pretty good guess that American Horror Story: Coven is going to involve some for if witchery!

There was also some revelations revealed about Kathy Bates’ much hyped new character in the show, with Bates herself explaining: “I’ve loved it from the very beginning,”  Bates will play the best friend of Jessica Lange’s new character – but will turn out to be her nemesis.. “I called up Jessica and told her to talk to Ryan and tell him I’d do anything on the show.”

So, Bates is happy to do anything, and from the sounds of it she just might get her wish. She might also get to have a new slanging matches with Jessica Lange’s overpowering character as Murphy explained: “I wanted to see a lot of scenes with Jessica Lange and Kathy Bates going at it, and that’s what you’re going to see” This is sounding better and better by the day!

A keen enthusiast and collector of all horror and extreme films. I can be picky as i like quality in my horror. This doesn't necessarily mean it has to be a classic, but as long as it has something to impress me then i'm a fan. I watch films by the rule that if it doesn't bring out some kind of emotive response then it aint worth watching.
