Marvel and Disney announce two new mystery films as part of their ‘Phase Three’

Disney announced a big load of release dates yesterday, plus a title for their upcoming Muppets sequel, but what was most interesting in the release schedule were two as yet untitled Marvel films.

We all know that The Avengers 2 will complete ‘Phase Two’ on May 1st 2015, and that Ant-Man kicks off Phase Three on November 6th 2015, but now we have two mystery films to also look forward too!.

Clearly as part of Phase Three, Disney and Marvel announced they will be releasing a film on May 5th 2016, and May 5th 2017, and this is sticking with their traditional first week of May opening (used for Iron Man 3, The Avengers, Iron Man 2, Iron Man and Thor) for the US, with the UK sometimes a week early. We do not know what the films will be yet, but Marvel President Kevin Feige recently hinted in an interview MTV as to what these films might be:

“Doctor Strange, which I’ve been talking about for years, is definitely one of them. He’s a great, original character, and he checks the box off this criteria that I have: he’s totally different from anything else we have, just like Guardians Of The Galaxy. He’s totally different from anything we’ve done before, as is Ant-Man, which keeps us excited.”

So the first film might be Doctor Strange, and I have suspicion that May 5th 2017 will be the release of The Avengers 3, and the end of Phase Three.

Disney also announced that their sequel to The Muppets is now called: Muppets Most Wanted.

Director Brad Bird’s mysterious new film Tomorrowland, starring George Clooney and HughLaurie, has been moved up to December 12, 2014 from its previously announced December 19th date.

A keen enthusiast and collector of all horror and extreme films. I can be picky as i like quality in my horror. This doesn't necessarily mean it has to be a classic, but as long as it has something to impress me then i'm a fan. I watch films by the rule that if it doesn't bring out some kind of emotive response then it aint worth watching.
