Boasting one hell of a cast is Ridley Scott’s new film, The Counselor, and Scott put this beast together very quickly after he directed Prometheus. The dark thriller is not due for release until November 15th here in the UK, but a Russian teaser trailer has popped up on-line, and it is quite brilliant.

Now, being a Russian teaser trailer, sadly the short trailer is dubbed in Russian, so there is no English dialogue, but instead you can just enjoy the stunning visual style of the film and the rather intense build up. Even though we don’t know what is being said, it certainly looks very edge of your seat stuff!

Ridley Scott directs the film, and it was written by Cormac McCarthy. Now here’s the jaw dropping cast: Brad Pitt, Javier Bardem, Michael Fassbender, Cameron Diaz, Penelope Cruz, John Leguizamo, Rosie Perez, Natalie Dormer, Dean Norris, Goran Visnjic and Bruno Ganz.

Synopsis:

It is the story of a lawyer, the Counselor, a man who is so seduced by the desire to get rich, to impress his fiancee Laura, that he becomes involved in a drug-smuggling venture that quickly takes him way out of his depth. His contacts in this are the mysterious and probably corrupt Reiner and the seductive Malkina, so exotic her pets of choice are two cheetahs. As the action crosses the Mexican border, things become darker, more violent and more sexually disturbing than the Counselor has ever imagined.

(UPDATE: English language trailer added)

A keen enthusiast and collector of all horror and extreme films. I can be picky as i like quality in my horror. This doesn't necessarily mean it has to be a classic, but as long as it has something to impress me then i'm a fan. I watch films by the rule that if it doesn't bring out some kind of emotive response then it aint worth watching.
