15 new images for sci-fi thriller Snowpiercer show living conditions of passengers

Fifteen new images have been released for sci-fi thriller, Snowpiercer. The images focus on the passengers of the Snowpiercer train, which is almost hard to believe as  it gives more of an impression of a shanty town rather than aboard a train, and gives an insight into the conditions they are having to live in. Check them out below.

Written and directed by (The Host), Snowpiercer is based on the French graphic novel “Le Transperceneige” written by Benjamin Legrand. The story takes place on a train called the Snowpiercer and is transporting the only survivors of a failed experiment to prevent global warming. This will be Joon-ho’s English language debut.

The cast includes Song Kang-ho, Chris Evans, Jamie Bell, Alison Pill, John Hurt, Tilda Swinton, Ed Harris, Ewen Bremner, Octavia Spencer and Luke Pasqualino. Park Chan-wook (Oldboy, Thirst, Stoker) produces.

It’s been announced that the film is due to open on 1st August 2013 in South Korea, but no UK or US release date has been announced yet.

Snowpiercer is set in a future where, after a failed experiment to stop global warming, an Ice Age kills off all life on the planet except for the inhabitants of the Snowpiercer, a train that travels around the globe and is powered by a sacred perpetual-motion engine. A class system evolves on the train but a revolution brews.
