A massive Jaeger robot collapses in latest ‘Pacific Rim’ clip

Guillermo del Toro astonishing giant robots vs giant monsters epic is jaw dropping in scale, scope and all out awesomeness. I was absolutely blown away by the sheer ambition and brilliance of del Toro’s genius, and if you truly want to enjoy this mighty feast for the senses, then you simply HAVE to see it on the biggest, loudest screen you can find. I would like to tell you more, but one of our other reviewers has bagged the review, and you will be able to read his thoughts on Sunday.

For now though, yet another new clip has been released, which then goes in to a short trailer. The clip see’s one of the massive Jaeger robots walking out of the ocean, smashed up and collapsing on the snow covered beach. I can’t really go into detail about the ins and outs of the lip, so just enjoy it and get yourself to the cinema to see it right away!

Directed by Guillermo del Toro and written by Travis Beacham, Pacific Rim stars Idris Elba (Prometheus), Ron Perlman (Hellboy), Charlie Hunnam (Horrible Bosses), Charlie Day, Clifton Collins Jr, Rinko Kikuchi  and Robert Maillet.

When legions of monstrous creatures, known as Kaiju, started rising from the sea, a war began that would take millions of lives and consume humanity’s resources for years on end. To combat the giant Kaiju, a special type of weapon was devised: massive robots, called Jaegers, which are controlled simultaneously by two pilots whose minds are locked in a neural bridge. But even the Jaegers are proving nearly defenseless in the face of the relentless Kaiju. On the verge of defeat, the forces defending mankind have no choice but to turn to two unlikely heroes – a washed up former pilot (Charlie Hunnam) and an untested trainee (Rinko Kikuchi) – who are teamed to drive a legendary but seemingly obsolete Jaeger from the past. Together, they stand as mankind’s last hope against the mounting apocalypse.

Release Date 12th July 2013

A keen enthusiast and collector of all horror and extreme films. I can be picky as i like quality in my horror. This doesn't necessarily mean it has to be a classic, but as long as it has something to impress me then i'm a fan. I watch films by the rule that if it doesn't bring out some kind of emotive response then it aint worth watching.
