After the barrage of behind the scenes featurettes and an impressive animated story introduction, Bong Joon’ho’s Snowpiercer has noe delivered a second trailer, and it is fantastic.
While the ins and outs of the films are still a bit of a mystery, we do know for sure that mankind is now living out its days on a specially designed train called the Snowpiercer. This huge machine allows whats left of the human race to survive the ice age, but looking at this new trailer, there are class issues. It appears that the wealthy live at the front of the train, and the less fortunate live at the rear, but things are about to turn ugly!
The cast includes Song Kang-ho, Chris Evans, Jamie Bell, Alison Pill, John Hurt, Tilda Swinton, Ed Harris, Ewen Bremner, Octavia Spencer and Luke Pasqualino. Park Chan-wook (Oldboy, Thirst, Stoker) produces.
It’s been announced that the film is due to open on 1st August 2013 in South Korea, but no UK or US release date has been announced yet.
Snowpiercer is set in a future where, after a failed experiment to stop global warming, an Ice Age kills off all life on the planet except for the inhabitants of the Snowpiercer, a train that travels around the globe and is powered by a sacred perpetual-motion engine. A class system evolves on the train but a revolution brews.
