Sony Pictures have released a new sneak peak trailer for their upcoming adaptation of The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones, and the video comes courtesy of Yahoo. Running at just over a minute long, the video begins like any teenager set film, but quickly descends into much darker territory with some cool special effects and some wonderful imagery.
Since Twilight we have seen a number of these sorts of films turn up, from The Host and Beautiful Creatures to films like The Hunger Games and the upcoming Divergent, The Maze Runner and Vampire Academy: Blood Sisters. Teen’s in trouble seem to be all the rage, yet they have been painfully hit and miss, but so far all signs are showing that The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones will definitely be a hit.
The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones arrives in UK cinemas 23rd August 2013. Based on the novel’s written by Cassandra Clare, the first film is directed by Harald Zwart (The Karate Kid) and the cast includes Lily Collins, Lena Headey, Jonathan Rhys Myers, Robert Sheehan, Jared Harris, Jamie Campbell Bower, Kevin Zegers and Aidan Turner.

But why would demons be interested in ordinary mundanes like Clary and her mother? And how did Clary suddenly get the Sight? The Shadowhunters would like to know…
