Bong Joon-ho’s ‘Snowpiercer’ reveals new images and gorgeous concept art

Bong Joon-ho’s Snowpiercer has been breaking box office records in South Korea, and the epic apocalyptic sci-fi will be making its way to the US and UK soon. Even with talk of the film being cut by twenty minutes by The Weinsteins, Snowpiercer is set to be a massive hit.

While there have already been tons of trailers, featurettes and images revealed for the film (the marketing has been superb), I will not complain at a little more, and today we have it. Nearly twenty images have been released, half of them stills from the film, and the rest (and most interesting) are a cool collection of concept art. You can see all the brilliant images in the galley below.

Snowpiercer is written and directed by Bong Joon-ho (The Host, Memories of Murder)

The cast includes Song Kang-ho, Chris Evans, Jamie Bell, Alison Pill, John Hurt, Tilda Swinton, Ed Harris, Ewen Bremner, Octavia Spencer and Luke Pasqualino. Park Chan-wook (Oldboy, Thirst, Stoker) produces.

The film opened on 1st August 2013 in South Korea, but no UK or US release date has been announced yet.

Snowpiercer is set in a future where, after a failed experiment to stop global warming, an Ice Age kills off all life on the planet except for the inhabitants of the Snowpiercer, a train that travels around the globe and is powered by a sacred perpetual-motion engine. A class system evolves on the train but a revolution brews.

A keen enthusiast and collector of all horror and extreme films. I can be picky as i like quality in my horror. This doesn't necessarily mean it has to be a classic, but as long as it has something to impress me then i'm a fan. I watch films by the rule that if it doesn't bring out some kind of emotive response then it aint worth watching.
