EW have just released their Autumn Preview, and with it comes two new images: one from The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug, and one from The Hunger Games: Catching Fire.
In The Hobbit, we see Orlando Bloom as Legolas and Evangeline Lilly as Tauriel, two Elves stood on a cliff edge having a discussion, possibly about who has the biggest bow?
The second in a trilogy of films adapting the enduringly popular masterpiece The Hobbit, by J.R.R. Tolkien, The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug continues the adventures of the title character Bilbo Baggins (Martin Freeman) as he journeys with the Wizard Gandalf (Ian McKellen) and thirteen Dwarves, led by Thorin Oakenshield (Richard Armitage) on an epic quest to reclaim the lost Dwarf Kingdom of Erebor.
The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug is a production of New Line Cinema and MGM, with New Line managing production. Warner Bros Pictures is handling worldwide theatrical distribution, with select international territories as well as all international television distribution being handled by MGM.
The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug opens nationwide across the UK on 13th December 2013.
Secondly we have another serious looking image from The Hunger Games: Catching Fire. Here we see Jennifer Lawrence as Katniss Everdeen looking slightly nervous and bemused, but of course whatever it is she is seeing is off screen, so best to leave it up to the imagination!
THE HUNGER GAMES: CATCHING FIRE is be directed by Francis Lawrence, and produced by Nina Jacobson’s Color Force in tandem with producer Jon Kilik. The novel on which the film is based is the second in a trilogy that has sold more than 50 million books in print and digital in the U.S. alone.
The film will be released worldwide on November 22, 2013, and stars Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson, Sam Claflin, Liam Hemsworth, Woody Harrelson, Elizabeth Banks, Lenny Kravitz, Philip Seymour Hoffman, and Jeffrey Wright, with Stanley Tucci and Donald Sutherland.
THE HUNGER GAMES: CATCHING FIRE begins as Katniss Everdeen has returned home safe after winning the 74th Annual Hunger Games along with fellow tribute Peeta Mellark. Winning means that they must turn around and leave their familyand close friends, embarking on a “Victor’s Tour” of the districts. Along the way Katniss senses that a rebellion is simmering, but the Capitol is still very much in control as President Snow prepares the 75th Annual Hunger Games (The Quarter Quell) – a competition that could change Panem forever.
