‘The Amazing Spider-Man 2’ reveals nine new images, hints at future Sinister 6 villain team up!

Today Sony released nine new images from Marc Webb’s The Amazing Spider-Man 2, and the final image is probably the most interesting of the bunch.

The first eight images show off Andrew Garfield as Spider-Man, Dane Dehaan as Harry Osborn holding a camera, Paul Giamatti as Rhino, Stan Lee on set and also Jamie Foxx as the main villain Electro.

However, speaking of villains, the final image shows the outside of a warehouse, with the words ‘Sinister 6’ painted on it, clearly an indication that this is something we will be seeing more of in the already confirmed Spider-Man 3 and 4. The Sinister 6 is a team of super villains from the Marvel universe, and comprise of the founder, Dr Octopus, and five other villains which include Electro, Sandman, Vulture, Mysterio and Kraven the Hunter. The image is a clear hint that these villains will be part of the Spider-Man story in the upcoming sequels, and who knows, some may even play a small part in The Amazing Spider-Man 2?

The sequel to last year’s critical and box office hit The Amazing Spider-Man, the film stars Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone, Jamie Foxx, Sarah Gadon, Dane DeHaan, Colm Feore, Paul Giamatti, Chris Cooper and Sally Field.

In The Amazing Spider-Man™ 2, for Peter Parker (Andrew Garfield), life is busy – between taking out the bad guys as Spider-Man and spending time with the person he loves, Gwen (Emma Stone), high school graduation can’t come quickly enough. Peter hasn’t forgotten about the promise he made to Gwen’s father to protect her by staying away – but that’s a promise he just can’t keep. Things will change for Peter when a new villain, Electro (Jamie Foxx), emerges, an old friend, Harry Osborn (Dane DeHaan), returns, and Peter uncovers new clues about his past.

The film is directed by Marc Webb from a screenplay by Alex Kurtzman & Roberto Orci & Jeff Pinkner, with a previous draft by James Vanderbilt, and based on the Marvel Comic Book by Stan Lee and Steve Ditko. Avi Arad and Matt Tolmach are the producers.

The latest chapter in the Spider-Man story is set for release in 3D on May 2, 2014.

A keen enthusiast and collector of all horror and extreme films. I can be picky as i like quality in my horror. This doesn't necessarily mean it has to be a classic, but as long as it has something to impress me then i'm a fan. I watch films by the rule that if it doesn't bring out some kind of emotive response then it aint worth watching.
