Earlier this week we reported on some rather aggressive Tweets by Sylvester Stallone about his Planet Hollywood partner and Expendables co-star, Bruce Willis. Stallone Tweeted the exciting news that Harrison Ford was now joining the crew, replacing Willis, and Stallone’s Tweet went like this: “WILLIS OUT…HARRISON FORD IN!!!… GREAT NEWS!!! Been waiting years for this”.
Now, the capitol letters indicate massive excitement from Stallone, but also the words “been waiting years for this2 indicates either he has been desperate to have Harrison Ford in the team, or desperate to get rid of Willis. A Tweet a few moments later confirmed that it was probably the fact Stallone was desperate to get rid of Willis, here is what Stallone Tweeted: “GREEDY AND LAZY… A SURE FORMULA FOR CAREER FAILURE”
While we have all accepted that Willis is most definitely out, a report by THR has dug up the real reason Willis is off the film, and that reason is money! Willis was apparently offered $3 million for four days work in The Expendables 3, but sadly this wasn’t enough money for him. He demanded $1 million per day, which would have earned him $4 million instead of $3 million. Stallone and the rest of the crew all agreed that this was far too greedy, and basically told Willis to do one.
“He said he’d drop out unless he got $4 million,” a source told THR. “A million dollars a day. Stallone and everybody else involved said no” A good for them, how greedy can one man get, and demanding this sort of money when everyone else has to settle for less is just ludicrous, and makes you really question Willis as an actor. The Expendables was always about having a bit of fun with old timers getting together to have a blast, and for Christ sake it is ONLY four days work!
Meanwhile, sources close to the production said: “I think [Bruce] was pretty surprised he was replaced in 72 hours by Harrison Ford – a better actor, a much nicer person and a more interesting direction for the film.”
Bruce Willis was recently interviewed by Magic 105.4 about his new film, Red 2, and in the interview he acts like a complete bastard. Check out the embarrassing and cringeworthy video below, and try and sit through the whole thing if you can…
