The very first trailer for director Eduardo Rodriguez’ horror sequel, Fright Night 2: The New Blood, has leaked, so best you watch it quick before it gets removed.

I quite enjoyed Craig Gillespie’s 2011 remake, which starred Colin Farrell, Anton Yelchin and David Tennant, but I am not so convinced this sequel will be any good. I mean, what is with the very loud piece of dialogue in the trailer where someone bellows “fright night for real!”. What exactly does that mean? I’ll tell you what it means: this sequel will be silly, but there is a very good reason to be excited to see it. The incredibly hot Jaime Murray will be playing the main vampire, and while Farrell did a great job in the first remake, he certainly doesn’t look as sexy as Murray, so at least the film has sex appeal!

Eduardo Rodriguez (Stash House, El Gringo) directs the sequel which will be a direct to DVD release. The cast includes Jaime Murray, Will Payne (as Charley Brewster), Sean Power (as Peter Vincent), Sacha Parkinson, Chris Waller and John-Christian Bateman.

Synopsis:

When high school student Charlie attends a study abroad program with his horror obsessed friend “Evil” Ed and ex-girlfriend AMY in Romania, he soon discovers their young attractive professor Gerri (Jaime Murray) is a real life vampire. Too bad no one believes him. In fact, Evil Ed finds it amusing and it only feeds his vampire obsession. When Gerri turns Ed, Charlie seeks out Peter Vincent, the infamous vampire hunter (well, he plays one on TV) who is in Romania filming his show “Fright Night,” to teach him how to take down Gerri before she gets to Amy, who’s blood will cure Gerri of spending eternity as a vampire.

A keen enthusiast and collector of all horror and extreme films. I can be picky as i like quality in my horror. This doesn't necessarily mean it has to be a classic, but as long as it has something to impress me then i'm a fan. I watch films by the rule that if it doesn't bring out some kind of emotive response then it aint worth watching.
