New “Coffin” promo released for American Horror Story: Coven

A new promo for American Horror Story: Coven has been released, entitled “Coffin“, and with the tagline “What secrets do we keep that you thought were asleep?” Check it out below.

Coven takes place over different time periods, using both the 1830?s and a modern day setting, Kathy Bates plays real life serial killer Madam LaLaurie, a woman who kept slaves captive in her home in the 1800s, and Angela Bassett plays famed voodoo practitioner Marie Laveau.

Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk’s awesome series will continue with American Horror Story: Coven, and the first three dates and title cards for the episodes have been revealed, and they are as follows:

Episode 3.01 – “Bitchcraft” (09-Oct-2013)
Episode 3.02 – “Boy Parts” (16-Oct-2013)
Episode 3.03 – “Replacements, The” (23-Oct-2013)

The third season of the popular horror series will star Frances Conroy, Taissa Farmiga, Jessica Lange, Alexandra Breckenridge, Kathy Bates, Lily Rabe, Sarah Paulson, Jamie Brewer, Evan Peters, Gabourey Sidibe, Angela Bassett, Patti Lupone,Leslie Jordan, Alexander Dreymon and Denis O’Hare.

Synopsis:

American Horror Story: Coven tells the secret history of witches and witchcraft in America. Over 300 years have passed since the turbulent days of the Salem witch trials and those who managed to escape are now facing extinction. Mysterious attacks have been escalating against their kind and young girls are being sent away to a special school in New Orleans to learn how to protect themselves. Wrapped up in the turmoil is new arrival, Zoe (Taissa Farmiga), who is harboring a terrifying secret of her own. Alarmed by the recent aggression, Fiona (Jessica Lange), the long-absent Supreme, sweeps back into town, determined to protect the Coven and hell-bent on decimating anyone who gets in her way.
