ABC announced recently that Disney/ Pixar’s TV special, Toy Story of Terror, will air on October 16th at 8pm (in the US), perfect timing in the build up to Halloween. The first trailer for the thirty minute special has just been released, and you can view it below.
The TV movie is directed by Angus MacLane, and writers John Lasseter and Andrew Stanton are on writing duties. The short film see’s all your favourite characters return, including Woody (Tom Hanks), Buzz Lightyear (Tim Allen), Ken (Michael Keaton), Jessia (Joan Cussack), Trixie (Kristen Schaal), Rex (Wallace Shawn), Barbie (Jodie Benson), Mr Potato Head (Don Rickles), Slinky Dog (Blake Clark), Mr Pricklepants (Timothy Dalton) and also Combat Carl (Carl Weathers) will make an appearance.
Toy Story of Terror follows the adventures of the toys post-Toy Story 3, in which a fun road trip takes a very unexpected turn. “Bonnie is on a road trip to go see grandma with her mom, and the toys are in the trunk,” producer Galyn Susman says. “Mom gets a flat tire and they have to spend the night at a motel, and all kinds of chaos ensues.”
ABC describes the event as, “What starts out as a fun road trip for the Toy Story gang takes an unexpected turn for the worse when the trip detours to a roadside motel. After one of the toys goes missing, the others find themselves caught up in a mysterious sequence of events that must be solved before they all suffer the same fate in this Toy Story OF TERROR!”
