Deadline is reporting that ABC Family have just closed a deal for a high profile horror spec by writer Jeff Dixon. The series has been fast tracked, and should it go to pilot, Jamie Lee Curtis is attached to star. She would be working again with Halloween H20 director Steve Miner (Friday the 13th Parts 2 and 3, Day of the Dead, Lake Placid), and Miner would also executive produce.
The series has not yet had the green light, but as Deadline reports, it has been fast tracked which is a good sign. Should the series go to pilot, it will mark Curtis’ first appearance in horror since 2002’s Halloween: Resurrection.
Per Deadline:
Titled The Final Girls, the drama revolves around a group of girls who have, in essence, survived their own personal horror stories and are brought together by a mysterious older woman (Curtis) to channel the stress and scars of their experience for some greater good.
