Universal have announced a slight change in the title of their upcoming Dracula origin story starring Luke Evans. The film was originally called Dracula: Yeear Zero, but has now been retitled as Dracula Untold.

Directed by Gary Shore, the film centres on the story of the Transylvanian price before his eternal damnation as he tries to save his wife and son from a Turkish horde.

Luke Evans (Immortals, No One Lives) stars in the lead role as Dracula; Samatha Barks (Les Miserables) as a beautiful young woman from Eastern European folk tales who turns into a savage witch; Icelandic star Thor Kristjannsson, who will play Bright Eyes, an eastern European young boy who is taken as a slave and becomes a vision assassin in the Ottoman Army; and Art Parkinson (Game of Thrones) who will play Ingeras, Dracula’s son.

Charlie Cox (Boardwalk Empire), Sarah Gadon (A Dangerous Method, Antiviral), Dominic Cooper (Captain America, Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter), and Zach McGowan (Terminator: Salvation) also star.

Dracula Untold was recently pushed back from August 8th 2014 to October 3rd 2014.

Synopsis:

The script chronicles the epic origin of Dracula, weaving vampire mythology with the true history of Prince Vlad the Impaler. It depicts Dracula as a flawed hero in a tragic love story set in a dark age of magic and war, repositioning him more as a vengeful hero than the monster seen in Bram Stoker’s classic novel.

A keen enthusiast and collector of all horror and extreme films. I can be picky as i like quality in my horror. This doesn't necessarily mean it has to be a classic, but as long as it has something to impress me then i'm a fan. I watch films by the rule that if it doesn't bring out some kind of emotive response then it aint worth watching.
