Celebrate 75 years of Superman with Zack Snyder’s glorious animated short

Just weeks before Zack Snyder’s Man of Steel was released in cinemas, it was also announced that both Snyder and Bruce Timm (Superman: The Animated Series) would be working together on a short. The short film, running at just over two minutes, is a superb animated celebration of Superman from the beginning, right up to the present day.

Superman first arrived in Action Comics No.1 in June 1938, and all this year DC has been celebrating the 75th anniversary, and Snyder and Timm wanted to join in the fun. I am sure you’ll agree that the short film, below, is fantastic.

Attempting to squeeze in as much as possible, the short follows Superman through the ages, shifting gears with the sight of a comic book, and the next Superman bursting through the comic. No doubt fans will find plenty to enjoy here, and if you want to own this piece of brilliance, it will be available on the Man of Steel Blu-ray, which is released in the UK on December 2nd.

A keen enthusiast and collector of all horror and extreme films. I can be picky as i like quality in my horror. This doesn't necessarily mean it has to be a classic, but as long as it has something to impress me then i'm a fan. I watch films by the rule that if it doesn't bring out some kind of emotive response then it aint worth watching.
