Just over a month ago, we reported that Warner Bros. had confirmed that Zack Synder’s Man of Steel currently untitled follow up Batman vs. Superman movie will be filming in and around Detroit in the early months of 2014.
Well this weekend, Vahn Gharakhani, who is an extra for the superhero showdown, filmed the scene involving Gotham City University and Metropolis State University at East Los Angeles College’s Weingart Stadium during half time. Gotham Rouges (Batman) are in black and gold and Metropolis State University (Superman) are in red and white. About halfway through the video, an extra shouts “Metropolis sucks”, clearly getting into character!! Check out the video below, including some pictures Gharakhani took, courtesy of Collider.
David S. Goyer will be returning as scriptwriter and the story will see Henry Cavill’s Superman and Ben Affleck’s Batman going toe to toe. The only other confirmed casting is the return of Man of Steel‘s Amy Adams, Laurence Fishburne, and Diane Lane.
The film’s anticipated release date is 17th July 2015.
