The first trailer for Kenneth Branagh’s upcoming Tom Clancy adaptation, Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit, has been released by Paramount, and it aint half bad.
In the world of Bourne and Bond, Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit may struggle to find its place as a film. Naturally those who love Clancy’s book will be looking forward to this, but with Bourne and Bond being so good over the years, Ryan needs to bring something ultra special to this adaptation, and hopefully Branagh can pull it off.
Over the years big names have played the role of Jack Ryan in other adaptations of Clancy’s novels, with Harrison Ford appearing in both Patriot Games and Clear and Present Danger, Alec Baldwin in The Hunt For Red October, and Ben Affleck in The Sum of All Fears. Chris Pine takes on the role in Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit, and coming off the success of Star Trek and Star Trek Into Darkness, he looks perfect for the role. Check out the trailer and poster below.
Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit arrives in UK cinemas on Boxing Day.
