Well here’s some really shitty news to ruin your Halloween celebrations, so sorry to bring this to you on Halloween’s eve, but news is news, however fucking annoying it is!

While we were all under the impression that the sequel to Fede Alvarez’ Evil Dead reboot was well under way, it turns out that not only is the sequel pretty much scrapped, but Alvarez won’t even be directing the damn thing! The reports coming out a few months ago that Alvarez’ planned sequel just might link in with Sam Raimi’s proposed Army of Darkness 2 for a coming together seventh Evil Dead film, would also appear to be false. In fact, if what we have for you below is true, then who the hell knows what to believe anymore, and maybe Army of Darkness 2 is all bullshit as well!

Writer of Alvarez’ Evil Dead, Rodo Sayagues, was recently interviewed by Gorosito.TV, and during that interview, he revealed some truly upsetting news about the so-called Evil Dead sequel.

Look, I am sorry to tell you this but that movie won’t happen. Evil Dead 2 is not going to happen, at least not with us involved. We left that project many months ago because we preferred to put our energies on other things. I don’t know if the producers still have intentions of making it. But what I can tell you is that we are not part of that project.”

Now that really, really sucks because I thought Alvarez and Sayagues did a superb job with the reboot. However, those desperate to see the pair in action again can look forward to their next film, Machina.

There are no plot details, or anything really on Machina. All we know for sure is that it is a sci-fi, and Alvarez will direct, and both he and Sayagues will be writing. It is said to be their next project.

A keen enthusiast and collector of all horror and extreme films. I can be picky as i like quality in my horror. This doesn't necessarily mean it has to be a classic, but as long as it has something to impress me then i'm a fan. I watch films by the rule that if it doesn't bring out some kind of emotive response then it aint worth watching.
