The Hunger Games: Catching Fire director Francis Lawrence recently revealed that his sequel will ditch the shaky-cam, and instead pay much more attention to the love triangle between Katniss (Jennifer Lawrence), Gale (Liam Hemsworth) and Peeta (Josh Hutcherson). Judging by the first TV spot for the highly anticipated film, Lawrence wasn’t lying.
Using Coldplay epic sound, the extended TV spot is dramatic and thrilling stuff, full of emotion, action and plenty of new footage. Check it out at the bottom of this post.
Directed by Francis Lawrence, the film begins as Katniss Everdeen has returned home safe after winning the 74th Annual Hunger Games along with fellow tribute Peeta Mellark. Winning means that they must turn around and leave their family and close friends, embarking on a “Victor’s Tour” of the districts. Along the way Katniss senses that a rebellion is simmering, but the Capitol is still very much in control as President Snow prepares the 75th Annual Hunger Games (The Quarter Quell) – a competition that could change Panem forever.
Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson, Liam Hemsworth, Lenny Kravitz, Elizabeth Banks, Stanley Tucci, Donald Sutherland, Toby Jones, Woody Harrelson, Jena Malone, Philip Seymour Hoffman, Lynn Cohen, Patrick St. Esprit, Meta Golding, Bruno Gunn, Maria Howell, Sam Claflin all star.
The Hunger Games: Catching Fire will be released in cinemas across the UK on 21st November 2013.
