Remember how Tobe Hoopers new horror, Djinn, was cancelled and then it was back on, and then came a whopping five minute trailer? No, well I wouldn’t blame you, for that was well over a year ago that first trailer was released.
Well, it would appear that the film is making waves once more as it has been revealed that Djinn will finally have its world premiere at the Abu Dhabi Film Festival later this month. The festival have released a new trailer, plus a new synopsis, which you will find below.
Djinn is directed by Tobe Hooper and written by David Tully, the cast includes Razane Jammal, Aiysha Hart & Khalid Laith.
Desperate to put the traumatic loss of their young child behind them, newlywed couple Khalid and Salama flee New York, back to their home in the UAE.
Unbeknown to the couple, their new home in luxury apartment block, Al Hamra, was built on the site of an old abandoned fishing village of the same name. Legend has it that the village was abandoned after manevolant beings haunted its inhabitants.
Unsettled by her new surroundings and the eerie hallways of Al Hamra, Khalid worries his wife is failing to battle her personal demons — but could it be something far more sinister.
