AFM: Kate Bosworth and Thomas Jane join Mike Flanagan’s horror ‘Somnia’

Some casting news just in from AFM: Kate Bosworth (above, Straw Dogs) and Thomas Jane (The Mist) have both joined Mike Flanagan’s (Absentia, Oculus) new horror Somnia.

No details have been revealed on who they will be playing, but they join the already cast Katee Sackoff, and the newly cast Jacob Tremblay as the child.

Somnia begins production later this fall, with Focus Features International handling international sales on the psychological horror film scripted by Flanagan and Jeff Howard. Trevor Macy is producing through Intrepid Pictures banner with William D. Johnson and Sam Englebardt of Demarest Films. Demarest will co-finance with MICA Entertainment. Mali Elfman is exec producer.

Somnia is described as a haunting, emotionally absorbing horror film about an orphaned child whose dreams — and nightmares — manifest physically as he sleeps. The film explores the enduring bonds between parent and child and is punctuated by sequences of intense, visceral terror that only a child’s imagination could conjure.

A keen enthusiast and collector of all horror and extreme films. I can be picky as i like quality in my horror. This doesn't necessarily mean it has to be a classic, but as long as it has something to impress me then i'm a fan. I watch films by the rule that if it doesn't bring out some kind of emotive response then it aint worth watching.
