With the casting rumours for Star Wars: Episode VII coming out at full force, it’s difficult to keep up with who is and isn’t going to be in the film, with most castings still unconfirmed. So to add to the whole host of prospective actors, today, Chiwetel Ejiofor (12 Years a Slave, 2012, American Gangster), is the latest actor to be connected to the J.J. Abrams project.
The actor, who is currently favourite to win the Oscar for Best Actor for his role in 12 Years a Slave, was recently spotted in Bad Robot’s lobby. J.J Abrams reportedly said to The Times when asked about Ejiofor’s sighting ” I can’t discuss casting…but [Ejiofor] is a very talented gentleman.”
Ejiofor was then asked on the red carpet whether he would be in Star Wars: Episode VII if Abrams wished to cast him and he said, “Well, we’ll see if it happens, I’m not going to tell you.” Understandably vague but his facial expression says differently!!
Check out the footage below from the red carpet interview.
