A new Saw-like torture-porn horror is on the way from director Marc Morgenstern, and How I Met Our Mother star Charlene Amoia (below) is set to star. Amoia has also been seen in TV series’ Days of Our Lives and The Young and Restless, and also appeared in American Pie sequel, American Reunion.
Amoia and Christopher Showerman (The Land That Time Forgot, Complacent) have been cast in his Saw-esque thriller that begins shooting in Los Angeles next month.
Vitals is based on the horrible idea of organ harvesting, and a teaser trailer has been put together which you can watch below.
In the film, Showerman will play unassuming electrician who wakes up in an abandoned motel room in a tub of ice with his kidney missing. It’s only a matter of time before he finds his wife in the adjacent room waiting to be the next victim to a horrible organ harvesting organization. Now they must use each other’s wits and skills to escape before their captors return and their dark secrets are revealed.

The Boy Next Door:
It has also been revealed today that CSI’s Hill Harper (below) will be playing a supporting role in the Blumhouse produced horror, The Boy Next Door. Harper will be in a supporting role, playing the principal of the titular boys school.
The Boy Next Door is the first film in Blum’s new deal with Universal, and horror fans should already know what to expect from a Blum production. He has given us the likes of Paranormal Activity, Sinister, The Purge and Insidious over recent years, and films with his name attached are guaranteed to generate interest among the horror community.
Jennifer Lopez, John Corbett and Kristin Chenoweth also star. The film will be directed by “xXx” and “The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor” director Rob Cohen.
Lopez will star as a newly separated mother who begins an affair with a new teenage neighbor who befriends her son. Trouble ensues, however, when she tries to abruptly end the relationship.
