Even though James Wan has said he’s done with directing horror, that doesn’t stop him producing. The director of The Conjuring, Insidious 1 & 2, Saw and Dead Silence has already executive produced Saw 2-7, and also produced the upcoming terror flick, Demonic.
Now New Line have hired the skilled director to produce a new horror film for them, Crawlspace. The film was once called Within, but has now been titled Crawlspace. Lesbian Vampire Killers helmer Phil Claydon is directing Crawlspace from a script written by Gary Dauberman (Swamp Devil). Wan has come aboard to produce the project with Rick Alvarez. Walter Hamada and Dave Neustadter are overseeing for New Line.
Crawlspace is about a family that moves into a new house and immediately falls prey to strange occurrences. But what seems like a traditional supernatural thriller gets twisty when the rug is pulled from under both the family and the audience.
More as it develops.
