First Poster for DAWN OF THE PLANET OF THE APES Swings onto the ‘Net

With news that the debut teaser trailer for DAWN OF THE PLANET OF THE APES will be appearing on our monitors next Wednesday, we’ve got the first poster for the film, which is expected to hit UK cinemas in July 2014. The poster shows lead ape Caesar angrily wearing red war paint, or possibly blood? Who knows, but we sure know that a war between the apes and humans is brewing in the sequel to the successful Rise of the Planet of the Apes.

A growing nation of genetically evolved apes led by Caesar is threatened by a band of human survivors of the devastating virus unleashed a decade earlier. They reach a fragile peace, but it proves short-lived, as both sides are brought to the brink of a war that will determine who will emerge as Earth’s dominant species.

Directed by Matt Reeves, the film stars Andy Serkis as the motion capture artist for Caesar, Jason Clarke, Gary Oldman, Keri Russell, Toby Kebbell, Kodi Smith-McPhee, Enrique Murciano and Kirk Acevedo.
