When first announced, the Flatliners style horror was titled ‘Reawakening’, but now the film has a new title and an official US release date.
Variety reports that the newly titled ‘Lazarus’ will be released in US cinemas by Lionsgate on January 30th 2015.
Olivia Wilde and Mark Duplass star in the new horror thriller from Lionsgate, with Donald Glover, Evan Peters and Sarah Bolger also appearing. Jiro Dreams of Sushi director David Gelb will be directing the film, and horror producer Jason Blum is onboard to produce and work his magic here.
The screenplay was written by newcommer Luke Dawson and Jeremy Slater (who wrote the screenplay for Josh Trank’s upcoming Fantastic Four reboot).
Wilde was most recently seen in The Incredible Burt Wonderstone, but has also appeared in films like Tron: Legacy, In Time, Cowboys and Aliens and Deadfall. Duplass has appeared in Zero Dark Thirty, People Like Us, Safety Not Guaranteed and TV series The Mindy Project.
The story follows a team of research students that discovers the secret to bringing subjects back from the dead — however, their actions result in a series of sinister consequences.
