Of all the former 80’s and 90’s action heroes currently enjoying a career boost thanks to The Expendables, in my opinion it is Jean-Claude Van Damme who can hold his head high as the most brilliant of them all. His awesome Coors Light beer adverts are hilarious, his brave and bold 2008 film JCVD, his stunning villain in The Expendables 2 (the best part of the film, period!), his awesome work in the last two Universal Soldier movies, and then there’s the video below.
The video below see’s the Muscles from Brussels do a truly epic version of the splits, and really has to be seen to be believed!
So, in honour of the great Van Damme, a Facebook petition has been set up to try and get him a role in the new Terminator film. Will it work? Who knows, we can live in hope I guess, but if you don’t join the petition, then you will never be able to say at least you tried. If he did get a role, a villain role would be great for him to play, and I am all for seeing Van Damme in Terminator 5.
It seems the action star is keen too, and he has seen the Facebook page, and responded with the following statement:
“This is amazing! Thanks to the wonderful fan group behind this nice page. The fan-made CGI galleries you have created are incredible. Answering your questions, I would definitely love to join The Terminator franchise with Mr. Arnold Schwarzenegger, if I am offered the role. Thank you, once again… I am happily still browsing your amazing fan-made videos and photos! #JCVD”
Check out the Facebook page, and become part of the petition, but before you do, and if you need any more proof of Van Damme’s awesomeness, then watch the below video and tell me this guy would not make a cool Terminator villain!
Alan Taylor (Game of Thrones, Thor: The Dark World) is directing Terminator 5, and Arnold Schwarzenegger is set to return. Emilia Clarke (Game of Thrones) and Brie Larson (Scott Pilgrom vs the World) have tested for the role of Sarah Connor, while Garrett Hedlund (Tron: Legacy) and Boyd Holbrook (The Host) have been rumoured to play Kyle Reese (the role played by the brilliant Michael Biehn in James Cameron’s 1984 original)
Arnold Schwarzenegger is also set to return as “a Terminator robot in a time-spanning story that sees him tasked to protect Sarah Connor as she grows up.”
