Director Colin Trevorrow (Safety Not Guaranteed) has confirmed today that Jurassic Park veteran, Phil Tippet, will be working on Jurassic World!!! This is exciting news as Tippet acted as “Dinosaur Supervisor”” on the Steven Spielberg original Jurassic Park.
Tippett, who is a visual effects supervisor specializing in stop-motion, was initially planned to take the helm on the stop-motion dinosaur effects on the original film. However, Spielberg decided to give the new CG technology a go after seeing the results of the effects in James Cameron’s Terminator 2. Tippet still remained on board through the original film as “Dinosaur Supervisor”, specifically overseeing the animation of the dinosaurs due to his expertise in animal movement and behaviour.
Jurassic World will definitely be a sequel and definitely not a reboot, and will take place twenty years after the events of the first film.
Most other details are pretty scare and all we know for sure is that Colin Trevorrow is directing, Ty Simpkins is starring, Chris Pratt is being eyed for a starring role, Frank Marshall is producing and Rick Jaffa and Amanda Silver (Rise of the Planet of the Apes) have written the script.
We also know that Jurassic World will arrive in cinemas June 12th 2015.
