We recently reported that Terminator 5 is definately happening, will be the first film in a new series, will be directed by Alan Taylor [hope he makes a better job of this than Thor: The Dark World], written by Laeta Kalogridis and Patrick Lussier, and will have an appearance by Arnold Schwarzenneger. Then this TV series was announced, to be written and produced by Megan Ellison and David Ellison who did a decent job on Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles [yeah, I rather liked it] and that it will tie in with the new film. Now, HorrorMovies.ca have told us that Production Weekly are calling the new film Terminator: Genesis. Considering the new film sounds rather like a remake [well reboot is the word they like to use] of the brilliant first film, it seems like an appropriate title. Just calling it The Terminator just wouldn’t seem right.
I can’t say I’m enthused about any new Terminator films to be honest, and kind of wish that they’d just made the first and second movies, released the latter with its original ending, and then just left it at that. But we shall see. The new film is scheduled for a July 2015 release.
