The Following returns to US TV next month, and there has been plenty of promotional activity to wet fans appetites for a bit of serial killers, cults and Kevin Bacon’s tough guy Ryan Hardy. Now a new collection of videos have been released which look into Joe Carroll and his followers, the man who stopped him (Ryan Hardy), and the poor woman who was caught inbetween them.
Four videos have been released in total, and you can watch all four below, along with two new promo teasers.
A host of new faces will also be joining the show. Leslie Bibb (Iron Man) will play Jana Murphy, a housewife who encounters notorious killer Joe Carroll, Keith Carradine (Dexter) as a friend of Hardy’s, Jessica Stroup (90210) as Hardy’s niece, James McDaniel (NYPD Blue) as a task force leader, Valerie Cruz (Nip/Tuck) as Detective Gina Mendez. Other stars include Carrie Preston (True Blood) and Connie Nielsen.
Creator Kevin Williamson has revealed that the second season will be set a year after the events of the first season:“Moving forward one year later gives us an opportunity to explore a whole new story. We just want to make the best show possible and make it better.”
The acclaimed thriller starring Kevin Bacon and James Purefoy will unveil a special preview in the US on Sunday, January 19, immediately after the “NFC Championship Game” (live, 6:00 PM-CC ET), kicking off 15 heart-pounding weeks of uninterrupted episodes. The Season 2 premiere of “The Following” will air Monday, January 27 (9:00-10:00 PM ET/PT), following an encore of the preview (8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT).
Synopsis:
Created by Kevin Williamson (“The Vampire Diaries,” “Dawson’s Creek,” the Scream franchise) and starring Golden Globe Award-winning actor Kevin Bacon (X-Men: The Last Stand, Frost/Nixon) and James Purefoy (“Rome”), the special Season 2 preview of “THE FOLLOWING,” entitled “Resurrection,” catches up with RYAN HARDY (Bacon) in the wake of a horrific new murder spree, which furthers his suspicion that JOE CARROLL’s (Purefoy) reign of terror is far from over. The series, which will have its season premiere on Monday, January 27 (9:00-10:00 PM ET/PT) following an encore of the preview episode (8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT), also stars Shawn Ashmore (the X-Men franchise) and Valorie Curry (“Veronica Mars”), and joining the cast this season are Connie Nielsen (“Boss,” “Law & Order: SVU”), Jessica Stroup (“90210”), Sam Underwood (“Dexter”), and Tiffany Boone (Beautiful Creatures).
