Batman vs. Superman new rumours; Luthor to appear alongside another villain, Wonder Woman will star as “cameo”, Jason Mamoa to star

With filming due to go underway soon for Batman vs. Superman and principle photography only a few weeks away, the rumour mill is still going strong with four new ones surrounding the superhero epic. Batman-on-film has been answering fan’s queries and the following are posted on their website:

1) Lex Luthor still hasn’t been confirmed for the film, most fans are expecting the super villain to make an appearance. However, it has been reported by Batman-on-film that Luthor will be in the movie, but will star alongside another villain as well, which will not be one of Batman’s baddies.

2) Wonder Woman’s role in the film will probably be on a par with Scarlett Johansson’s Black Widow in Iron Man 2, and will play a “cameo-plus type of role that will (hopefully) serve as a springboard to a solo Wonder Woman movie“.

3) With concerns that Superman vs. Batman was starting to look quite crowded, the film will be a “truly a Superman film“. Batman-on-film says: “The film’s bad guys are Superman villains and Henry Cavill’s Man of Steel/Clark Kent is the main character. Of course, Batfleck will play a major role in the movie; but I suspect that one of the main reasons for Batman’s inclusion is to establish a new “DCU on Film Batman” and set up future solo Bat-flicks. Same goes for Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman – though I think her role is much smaller than BA’s Batman.”

4) And finally, Jason Momoa is in negotiations to joint the movie but will not be playing Martian Manhunter or Aquaman as neither characters will feature in the film.

The film, from director Zack Snyder, brings together the two greatest Super Heroes of all time—Superman and Batman—for the first time on the big screen. Production on the new film is expected to begin in metro Detroit and throughout Michigan sometime in the first quarter of 2014. Snyder is co-writing the story with David S. Goyer, who is writing the screenplay. Charles Roven and Deborah Snyder are producing the film, which will star Henry Cavill, Ben Affleck, Gal Gadot, Amy Adams, Laurence Fishburne and Diane Lane.

Batman vs Superman is due in cinemas on July 17th 2015.
