Yesterday we saw some fresh images released for Jose Padilha’s Robocop reboot, and today comes three new, action packed TV spots. I hate to admit it, but I am starting to look forward to this, and the new TV spots certainly boast some impressive action, the odd bit of cool dialogue, some nice robot scenes, a sense of chaos, some serious stuff, and all three end with Robocop muttering his most famous line “dead or alive, you’re coming with me!”.
Director José Padilha (Elite Squad) reimagines the tale of part man, part machine, all cop starring Joel Kinnaman (The Killing) as the title character, with Abbie Cornish playing his wife Ellen, Gary Oldman (The Dark Knight Rises) as the scientist who creates RoboCop, Jackie Earle Haley as Maddox, the man who dispenses the military training to Robocop, Michael Keaton plays Raymond Sellars, and Samuel L. Jackson (The Avengers) as media mogul Pat Novak, and Aimee Garcia will play a scientists who helps put Robocop together. RoboCop is produced by Strike Entertainment’s Marc Abraham and Eric Newman, with Eric Carraro as Executive Producer.
Robocop is expected in UK cinemas 7th February 2014.
In RoboCop, the year is 2029 and multinational conglomerate OmniCorp is at the centre of robot technology. Their drones are winning American wars around the globe and now they want to bring this technology to the home front. Alex Murphy is a loving husband, father and good cop doing his best to stem the tide of crime and corruption in Detroit. After he is critically injured in the line of duty, OmniCorp utilises their remarkable science of robotics to save Alex’s life. He returns to the streets of his beloved city with amazing new abilities, but with issues a regular man has never had to face before.
