LATEST FILM NEWS: New Friday 13th Film “may not have Jason!”…….. WTF!!!!!!

Derek Mears in Friday the 13th

Its a well known fact that Friday 13th was born out of the success of Halloween, even though Jason himself has become the same legendry horror icon like his mate Michael Myers.

Now it seems that the franchise is hinting that they may copy what Halloween done many many years ago and have a sequel that may not contain its biggest star.

While Halloween III: Season Of The Witch went into a different route and became a box office disaster thanks to the no show of Myers, (even though its one of HCF’s most underrated horror films),  the makers of the new reboot of Camp Crystal Lake have suggested that they are considering doing a Friday film where Jason will NOT SHOW UP…..

When asked about Jason for the next film, Platinum Dunes’s Brad Fuller replied: “I don’t know because I don’t know if we’re going to have Jason. I don’t know which Jason we’re going to have. I can tell you this: I love Derek Mears, I love working with him and he’s a dream so we’d be lucky to have him.

“I think if we’re going to go for a Jason Voorhees we would go with Derek [rather than Kane Hodder]. He’s our guy. Now it’s a matter of getting a script that we all love, that we feel like we can execute in a great way. That’s always the battle, isn’t it?”

Not much to go on we know, but the hint is there in the first line that there are talks of going down a different route.   What we do know is that the next film WILL BE FOUND FOOTAGE, a decision that has horrified many fans of the franchise.

Fuller said ” “I’m well acquainted with some very loud members of the audience who hate found footage and I understand that. I think for us it’s more about what the story is and what’s the best way to tell it. Until we figure out exactly what the story is for the next Friday the 13th movie, I can’t tell you what it’s going to be.”

So a found footage Friday 13th film without Jason…… hmmmm!!!!!!   The horror genre is getting crazy!
