A green-band trailer for Ti West’s highly praised new horror, The Sacrament, has been released, and you can view it below.
The trailer holds back on some of the violence seen in the recently released red-band trailer, but is no less creepy as you will find out when you watch it. The Sacrament should be at the top of every horror fans must-see list.
The film is directed by West (The House of the Devil, The Innkeepers, V/H/S), and produced by Eli Roth (Hostel, Cabin Fever, The Last Exorcism, Aftershock, The Green Inferno). The cast includes Joe Swanberg (V/H/S, You’re Next, A Horrible Way To Die), AJ Bowen (You’re Next, A Horrible Way To Die, The House of the Devil, The Signal), Kentucker Audley (V/H/S), Amy Seimetz (You’re Next, A Horrible Way to Die, Tiny Furniture) and Gene Jones (No Country for Old Men).
Synopsis:
The Sacrament follows two Vice media correspondents as they set out to document their friend’s search to find his missing sister. They travel outside of the United States to an undisclosed location where they are welcomed into the world of “Eden Parish,” a self-sustained rural utopia comprised of nearly 200 members. At the centre of this small, religious, socialist community is a mysterious leader known only as “Father.” As their friend reunites with his sister, it becomes apparent to the newcomers that this paradise may not be as it seems. What started as just another documentary shoot soon becomes a race to escape with their lives.
ti weste always holds back the violence. Tries to bring in lots of character development and suspense. But there s never ever ever a payoff. His movies usually leave me screaming at the screen because they make me soooooo angry. Let s hope the sacrament has more to offer.
