‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ reveal three new images, plus a teaser for the official trailer

Things have been extremely quiet in terms of marketing for James Gunn’s adaptation of Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy, but all that is about to change!

The film once considered high risk for Marvel is now set to become one of the summers biggest films, with worldwide predictions of $1 billion in ticket sales. Slowly the film is becoming talked about more and more, some out of love for the space based heroes, and some out of curiosity of who exactly the Guardians of the Galaxy are.

Things are now beginning to kick off as today we get the first three proper images from the film, plus a teaser trailer prior to the official trailer later this evening.

The new trailer for Guardians of the Galaxy makes its debut on US TV on ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel Live! tonight (11:35 ET/PT), with a special intro by star ChrisPratt.

Pratt explained to USA Today just how popular he expects the film to become, and likened its rise to that of his favourite band Arcade Fire:

All of a sudden, Arcade Fire becomes incredibly popular: ‘I don’t know if I like them that much anymore.’ I’ll happily deal with the cool people not thinking I’m cool anymore and making bigger movies! … He adds that the movie’s really about “these characters, their emotions and their relationships.”

He also went into a little detail about his character Peter Quill AKA Star Lord:

Being stuck in space with no accountability makes for a strange combination of youthful vibrancy and cluelessness in a childlike man. He does some things that most people wouldn’t get away with. But part of his arc is being willing to essentially sacrifice himself for the greater good of other people.”

He continued on about the film itself:

There’s a whole lot to this movie — it’s not a stage play. You couldn’t make Guardians of the Galaxy the play and put it on Broadway. It really wouldn’t work. [Audiences] know what to expect at every turn. So that’s why it’s important now to do a comic-book movie that no one’s ever seen before.”

Guardians of the Galaxy is written and directed by James Gunn, and the cast includes Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Vin Diesel, Bradley Cooper, Lee Pace, Karen Gillan, John C. Reilly, Glenn Close, Michael Rooker, Djimon Hounsou, Peter Serafinowicz, and Benicio Del Toro.

The film will be released in UK cinemas August 1st.

A keen enthusiast and collector of all horror and extreme films. I can be picky as i like quality in my horror. This doesn't necessarily mean it has to be a classic, but as long as it has something to impress me then i'm a fan. I watch films by the rule that if it doesn't bring out some kind of emotive response then it aint worth watching.
