Paranormal Activity 3 directors hit a raw ‘Nerve’ with new young adult thriller

The writers and directors of the chilling Catfish, and directors of the superb Paranormal Activity 3 (let’s forget Paranormal Activity 4) have been tapped by Lionsgate to direct an adaptation of the young adult novel Nerve, written by Jeanne Ryan.

Joost and Schulman are currently in pre-production on an untitled thriller, so Nerve will not be there next film, but probably the one after. The synopsis for the novel sounds very interesting, and the directors would appear to be perfect for the task.

No cast details or start dates have been announced for the adaptation of the Jeanne Ryan novel, but we can share the synopsis to prove just how interesting this sounds.

Novel synopsis:

When Vee is picked to be a player in NERVE, an anonymous game of dares broadcast live online, she discovers that the game knows her. They tempt her with prizes taken from her ThisIsMe page and team her up with the perfect boy, sizzling-hot Ian. At first it’s exhilarating–Vee and Ian’s fans cheer them on to riskier dares with higher stakes. But the game takes a twisted turn when they’re directed to a secret location with five other players for the Grand Prize round. Suddenly they’re playing all or nothing, with their lives on the line. Just how far will Vee go before she loses NERVE?

A keen enthusiast and collector of all horror and extreme films. I can be picky as i like quality in my horror. This doesn't necessarily mean it has to be a classic, but as long as it has something to impress me then i'm a fan. I watch films by the rule that if it doesn't bring out some kind of emotive response then it aint worth watching.
