Director Denis Villeneuve’s Prisoners was one of the best films of last year, and I am so excited for his follow up film Enemy, which once again stars Jake Gyllenhaal.
There are no UK dates available at this time, but the film has been released in the US on DirectTV, and will have a limited theatrical run from March 14th.
A full length trailer was released earlier this month which was terrific, and now a new teaser trailer has been released which is equally as stunning. Running at just forty five seconds, the teaser uses superb music while offering glimpses of the film, with some truly horrific images appearing. A fascination with sex, paranoia and spiders might sound like a good combination, but here they come together to deliver a truly unique, and utterly disturbing NSFW teaser.
Enemy is directed by Denis Villeneuve, and has been written by Javier Gullon based on Jose Saramago’s novel. The cast includes Jake Gyllenhaal, Melanie Laurent, Sarah Gadon and Isabella Rossellini.
ENEMY tells the story of a university lecturer named Adam (Gyllenhaal) who is nearing the end of a relationship with his girlfriend Mary (Laurent). One night, while watching a film, Adam spots a minor actor who looks just like him. Consumed by the desire to meet his double, Adam tracks down Anthony, an actor living with his pregnant wife Helen (Gadon) and engages him in a complex and dangerous struggle. The film is a haunting and provocative psychosexual thriller about duality and identity, where in the end only one man will survive.
