Vincent D’Onofrio (Chained, The Cell, Full Metal Jacket) has been cast as the villain in Colin Trevorrow’s upcoming Jurassic World. Deadline reported the news earlier today:
Vincent D’Onofrio and Indian star Irrfan Khan will star in Universal’s franchise rebootJurassic World. D’Onofrio will play the bad guy in the pic that Bryce Dallas Howard and Chris Pratt are also attached to star in. D’Onofrio, repped by UTA, Silver Lining Entertainment and attorney Ken Richman, recently wrapped The Judge opposite Robert Downey Jr. and Robert Duvall. He will next be seen inPelé as the coach and in Run All Night starring opposite Liam Neeson. Khan is repped by Gersh and Brillstein Entertainment Partners.
UPDATE: The Wrap reports that Khan will be playing Patel, the billionaire owner of a new Jurassic Park, while D’Onofrio will play the CFO of the Patel Corporation. D’Onofrio’s character “projects the image of a normal family man to mask a hidden edge.”
So far we know very little about Jurassic World, but Colin Trevorrow has promised “This is a new sci-fi terror adventure set 22 years after the horrific events of Jurassic Park.”
Trevorrow co-wrote Jurassic World with Derek Connolly based on an existing script by Rick Jaffa and Amanda Silver. The cast is led by Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard, who are joined by youngsters Nick Robinson (The Kings of Summer) and Ty Simpkins (Insidious).
Jurassic World will arrive in cinemas June 12th 2015.
