Win an Exclusive Quad Poster for Cannibal Horror WE ARE WHAT WE ARE

A uniquely disturbing tale from the director of Stake Land, Jim Mickle brings a tense, heartbreaking and dramatic horror to life in this beautifully told tale of family, tradition and death.

With breakout performances from Bill Sage (Boardwalk Empire) and newcomers Julia Garner (Martha Marcy May Marlene) and Ambyr Childers (The Master), We Are What We Are is an undeniably stylised piece of cinema.

I love prosthetic effects, stop-motion animation and gore, but most of all I love a good story! I adore B-movies and exploitation films in many of their guises and also have a soft spot for creature features. I review a wide range of media including movies, TV series, books and videogames. I'm a massive fan of author Hunter S. Thompson and I enjoy various genre of videogames with Kingdom Hearts and Harvest Moon two of my all time favs. Currently playing: Always Sometimes Monsters and The Witcher

  1. The scene in Audition where the man who had been mutilated and kept in a sack was given a warm bowl of vomit to eat. 😈 Love it.

  2. There was a hilarious scene in Dirty Rotten Scoundrels where Michael Caine and Steve Martin are entertaining a lady guest to dinner.

  3. “They live” John Carpenters film, the bit when the guy stands there and faces down the Vampires and says “I came here tonight to chew bubble gum and kick ass, and I’m right out of bubble gum” and opens up with the shot gun, shooting every thing that moves. Classic!!!

  4. It has to be Indiana jones and the temple of doom where there having a meal with the prince and they bring out the soup with the eyeballs and then the best part in my opinion which is the chilled monkey brains then she faints i love the whole meal scene 🙂

  5. Definitely the ‘chestburster’ scene in Alien, when the baby alien bursts out of John Hurt’s stomach. It’s still shocking on second or third viewing of the movie, because you’re never quite sure exactly when the little guy is going to appear.

  6. Hannibal Lechter feeding Paul Krendler his final meal – a piece of his own brain, that Hannibal slices off and gently fries….very disturbing 😮

  7. Hannibal where hannibal (anthony hopkins) cuts off and cooks then feeds paul part of his own brain (ray liotta) with a nice Chianti, made even more memorable when he gives some to the child to eat on the airplane at the end of the movie.

  8. The Lost Boys who have a suspected vampire around for dinner, and feed him garlic while pretending it is parmansen cheese.
