Bates Motel’s Michael Vartan to star in new horror ‘Crawlspace’ from director of Lesbian Vampire Killers

Michael Vartan has joined the second season of Bates Motel, and has previously appeared in TV series’ Alias, Big Shots and Hawthorne, as well movies Colombiana, Monster In Law and Rogue. He is now set to star in New Lines horror feature Crawlspace, which comes from Lesbian Vampire Killers director Phil Claydon.

Deadline broke the news:

Bates Motel star Michael Vartan has landed the male lead in Crawlspace, the New Line genre film that’s directed by Phil Claydon (Vampire Killers) and produced by Peter Safran (The Conjuring) and Rick Alvarez.

Erin Moriarty (True Detective, Kings of Summer, The Watch) landed the lead female role in “Crawlspace” a week ago.

Vartan will play a widower with a daughter who gets remarried and, after going through a rough patch of unemployment, gets the opportunity for a new start in a new house in the suburbs. Trouble is the house has a very disturbing secret from the past that rears up.

Principal photography is set to begin March 24, 2014 in Los Angeles.

A keen enthusiast and collector of all horror and extreme films. I can be picky as i like quality in my horror. This doesn't necessarily mean it has to be a classic, but as long as it has something to impress me then i'm a fan. I watch films by the rule that if it doesn't bring out some kind of emotive response then it aint worth watching.
