Epic new ‘Maleficent’ trailer calls on those who live in the shadows

A teaser trailer earlier this week promised a brand new trailer for Disney’s epic new tale of Maleficent, and you will find the new trailer below. With Angelina Jolie playing Maleficent, I muse admit to being rather excited about this film, and the superb and big scale new trailer only heightens my excitement.

The special effects look superb, there is a dark tone hanging over the film, and some of the battle scenes look awesome. With Jolie eating up the screen as Maleficent too, how can this go wrong?

Maleficent is the untold story of Disney’s most iconic villain from the 1959 classic Sleeping Beauty. A beautiful, pure-hearted young woman, Maleficent has an idyllic life growing up in a peaceable forest kingdom, until one day when an invading army threatens the harmony of the land. Maleficent rises to be the land’s fiercest protector, but she ultimately suffers a ruthless betrayal—an act that begins to turn her pure heart to stone. Bent on revenge, Maleficent faces an epic battle with the invading king’s successor and, as a result, places a curse upon his newborn infant Aurora. As the child grows, Maleficent realizes that Aurora holds the key to peace in the kingdom—and perhaps to Maleficent’s true happiness as well.

The film, directed by Robert Stromberg,  stars Angelina Jolie as Maleficent, Sharlto Copley, Elle Fanning, Sam Riley, Imelda Staunton, Juno Temple and Lesley Manville.

Maleficent opens in cinemas on 30th May 2014.

A keen enthusiast and collector of all horror and extreme films. I can be picky as i like quality in my horror. This doesn't necessarily mean it has to be a classic, but as long as it has something to impress me then i'm a fan. I watch films by the rule that if it doesn't bring out some kind of emotive response then it aint worth watching.
