First casting and brief synopsis revealed for M. Night Shyamalan’s new horror ‘Sundowning’

Last month it was revealed that M. Night Shyamalan was secretly working on a new film called Sundowning, and at the time it was thought to be a possible horror film involving vampires.

Black Swan‘s costumer Amy Westcott and production designer Therese DePerez are apparently working on the film alongside French cinematographer Maryse Alberti (The Wrestler).

Shyamalan had been posting some updates to his Twitter account, including the below picture, and it has been revealed that production is close to completing. A small crew worked on the film, but at this moment in time there is no distributor for the film.

The Wrap got the first word on the secret film, revealing both the first cast names and a VERY brief synopsis:

Described by The Wrap as a thriller, the film centers on a single mother (Kathryn HahnBad Words) with two kids who visit their grandparents and things go very wrong.Ed Oxenbould (Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day) plays her son, who is protective of his sister.

According to Wikipedia, “sundowning” is described as “a psychological phenomenon associated with increased confusion and restlessness in patients with some form of dementia. Most commonly associated with Alzheimer’s disease, but also found in those with mixed dementia, the term “sundowning” was coined due to the timing of the patient’s confusion.”

A keen enthusiast and collector of all horror and extreme films. I can be picky as i like quality in my horror. This doesn't necessarily mean it has to be a classic, but as long as it has something to impress me then i'm a fan. I watch films by the rule that if it doesn't bring out some kind of emotive response then it aint worth watching.
